Tod Seisser – A brief look into his career



Tod Seisser finished his BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) degree from New York’s School of Visual Arts in the year 1979. He specialized in Advertising & Graphic Design. He worked as a creative director for Levine Huntley Schmidt & Beaver from the year 1983 to the year 1988. During this period he worked for clients like New York Air, McCall's Magazine, Citizen Watch and Kronenbourg Beer.  The next company he worked for was Ammirati Puris Lintas (Ammirati & Puris). He worked there for eight years that is from the year 1989 to the year 1997 as the managing partner, creative and handled clients like Rolling Rock, Club Med, RCA, Burger King, Nikon, and UPS.

He then worked for J. Walter Thompson for around eight moths as Co-Executive Creative Director (May – December 1997) and the clients he handled included DeBeers, Clairol, Lipton, and Kelloggs. From there he moved to Saatchi & Saatchi, where he worked as Chief Creative Officer from the year 1998 to the year 2004. Tod Seisser handled clients including Delta Airlines, Proctor & Gamble, and Johnson & Johnson and helped the company acquire new clients like the International Olympic Committee, Yoplait, Iams, and Kodak. From the year 2004 to the year 2008 he worked as a freelance (or a gun-for-hire). During this period he worked for different clients and agencies. In June of the year 2008 he along with Julie Bauer and Steve Landsberg formed Grok. He still works there as the founding partner.

The various areas that Tod Seisser specializes in are interactive, print, television, guerrilla and out-of-home. He has a rich experience working with different consumer goods and services.

Tod Seisser’s life journey



Tod Seisser is a Fine Arts’ graduate from the New York’s School of Visual Arts. He was a part of the batch that graduated in the year 1979. The areas in which he specialized in are Advertising & Graphic Design. The first job he got was in Levine Huntley Schmidt & Beaver where he worked from 1983 to 88 (five years). While working here he handled important clients like New York Air, McCall's Magazine, Citizen Watch and Kronenbourg Beer. Then he moved over to Ammirati Puris Lintas (Ammirati & Puris) from 1989-97 (eight years). The clients he handled here included Rolling Rock, Club Med, RCA, Burger King, Nikon, and UPS.

In the year 1997 Tod Seisser decided to join J. Walter Thompson and worked there for around eight months. While working here he held the designation of Co-Executive Creative Director. The period was between the months of May and December 1997. During that time he handled big clients like DeBeers, Clairol, Lipton, and Kelloggs. After December of the year 1997, he joined Saatchi & Saatchi. He spent six years working here (between the years 1998-2004. During that period he handled big clients including Delta Airlines, Proctor & Gamble, and Johnson & Johnson. He was also able to bring new clients to the company including the International Olympic Committee, Yoplait, Iams, and Kodak. Once he left Saatchi & Saatchi he did some freelancing for four year (between the years 2004 -2008). During this period he worked for different agencies and clients. It was during the month of June of the year 2008 that he along with Julie Bauer and Steve Landsberg set up a marketing and advertising firm known as Grok. From that time onwards he has been working with Grok.

Tod Seisser founded Grok, a marketing and advertising firm with the help of Julie Bauer and Steve Landsberg. This marketing and advertising firm is based in New York. Tod didn’t like the usual bureaucracy and Grok was the result of this dislike. He strongly believed that the client and the team handling the project should be discussing the project. He felt that the higher officials who did not have a direct hand in the project should be kept out. The firm that he started was able to build a network of talented individuals who were ready to assist him whenever needed. These talented individuals came from different fields and had one thing in common. They were among the best in their respective fields. These individuals came from various fields including entertainment and media.

Tod Seisser is a Fine Arts graduate from New York’s School of Visual Arts. He has the experience of working with some top rated agencies under his belt. The reputed agencies with whom he worked include Ammirati & Puris, J. Walter Thompson, and Saatchi & Saatchi. Some of the prestigious clients he worked for include UPS, Seagrams, General Mills, and Johnson & Johnson. His work caught the attention of big publication houses. These houses included The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and People. He is also the recipient of many awards. Some of the awards he received include One Show, Art Directors Club, Andys, Cannes Lion, and Communication Arts.

Tod Seisser’s hobbies include collecting comics drawn by Jack Kirby and collecting vintage American wristwatches. The comics that Jack Kirby drew during the 1960s and the 1970s were the ones he was interested in collecting. He is also a strong supporter of animal rights. The various organizations that he supports include ASPCA, Shar Pei Savers, Animal Legal Defense Fund, and Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
